Tulip

A single tulip painted with extraordinary economy‚ a wash of yellow fading through peach to soft rose pink at the base, a clean green stem and leaf below, nothing more. The restraint of this hand-painted watercolour card is its greatest strength. Watercolour used at its most pure: transparent, luminous, utterly simple. Hand-painted in my London studio.
