Chimp

A baby chimpanzee hangs from a leafy branch with both arms stretched wide, looking directly at you with those warm brown eyes and the faintest suggestion of a smile‚ the expression of a creature who is thoroughly enjoying himself and wants you to know it. Painted in rich black-browns with carefully observed detail in the fur, the pink ears, the delicate fingers gripping the branch. Hand-painted in watercolour in my London studio.
