Wild Elegance

A leopard cub presses its face against its mother's cheek, those startling blue eyes wide open and trusting, while the mother, green-eyed, spotted, entirely composed, holds the moment with a stillness that speaks of complete devotion. The spotted fur of both animals is painted with meticulous care across the whole composition, warm ochres and rich blacks, the cub's tail curling upward with youthful energy. It is one of the most quietly powerful images in the entire collection. Hand-painted in watercolour in my London studio.
